My post was in response to Neofight.
[So, let me address your post, Sarcelle./COLOR]
He mentioned going to hell. Christ mentioned going to hell in what I quoted; I did not mention you going to hell He also mentioned that people who talk about donating to charities do not do actually do it. Well, I do. I didn’t say all people ( I said “few”), nor did I single you, my exact words were “we” which includes me, so there is no need for self-righteous indignation…
As for a begging kingpin, it is common knowledge that in some third world countries begging syndicates exists that use street children.“common knowledge” is often neither an example of something that is “common” or “knowledge”
I used to live in a third world country. I have seen this racket first hand. A lot of kingpins will not hesitate to sell children to visiting pedophiles from first world countries. I too have lived in third world countries, and, okay, I’ll accept your assessment that “a lot”, but certainly not allCatholic Charities is involved in getting these street children out of the clutches of these kingpins. Indeed, and bless them…my opinion is that we cannot assume without full knowledge the (lack of) needs of a child asking for alms, and we are called as Christians to give alms unconditionally…God will deal with those who might be exploiting other peopleThis is why I would rather donate to charities.Fair enough, but to imply that your way is the correct way makes you guilty of exactly what you are accusing me of.
How do I know? My mother was friends with nuns who worked on rescuing these kids. They were also the ones who cautioned my mom on giving these kids money, “these kids” is subjective…if the nuns were talking of kids who were being exploited by “kingpins”, they have a point, but anyone concluding this to mean we should not give to any because they "might be exploited have morally erred, in my opinion.as the money will just end up with an adult who is running the begging operation.
The real reason we see people begging at Catholic Churches is because they know the love of Christians, not that they are foolish with their money.
