I am towards the full Communion (here https://forums.catholic-questions.o...-into-rcia-initiation-before-being-christened is description of my state - I am at the start to the journey towards being Christened). My state is - while I am longing for the Eucharist, I also acknowledge that my life and heart is messy and I am taking the practical steps to order all this. Miracles would be OK, but the necessary steps are so practical that it seems to be that it could be better that I take them and then be in the mood and state to receive Eucharist.

As I understand, then there is strict rule to receive the Eucharist (Communion) at least once a year, but appart from this rule, there is individual discernment and conscience decision what is better for ones heart and soul and it is not sin to delay the Eucharist with aim to perceive it as some kind of victory gift for bringing the hear and life in order?

Eucharist is a precious help in your spiritual life and a source of Grace; there is no reason (if properly disposed and not in mortal sin) to delay receiving the Eucharist. A messy heart needs it even more!! God bless you.

Once you are baptized (a word I would use instead of “christened”, though it is a perfectly respectable word), every sin you have ever committed, and any eternal or temporal punishment due to these sins, is forever wiped away. You are starting all over again with an absolutely clean slate.

The vast majority of people have, to one extent or another, “messy” lives and hearts. We are all sinners. As long as you are in a state of grace, that is all the more reason you need to receive Holy Communion as often as you can. It is medicine for the soul, not a reward for the perfect.
