Is it ok to burn frankincense in your home?

From Catholic and Orthodox church supply stores.

Frankincense is the base for most church incenses, and they are often blended with other scents such as other resins, herbs, floral oils, myrrh and other balsams.

The opening poster is asking about burning church incense for devotional purposes at home, and, barring the good stuff already mentioned, such as lease terms and smoke detectors, is perfectly fine.

A lot of us will probably have better luck online. Catholic and orthodox supply stores tend to be thin on the ground in many places.

Oh, they’re online too. I would err towards actual religious supply stores, brick-and-mortar or online, rather than large generic stores like amazon or ebay. A lot of these religious supply stores now have online storefronts.
 
Throw some myrrh in there for good measure.

The three that produces frankincense is approaching threatened conservation status due to overconsumption.
 
I do that. I have a “Jerusalem” blend frankincense and some myrrh. Mix them and my basement ends up smelling like an Orthodox church.
 
I believe that is the brand I bought and it smells just like church incense. ☺️
 
I have a metal incense holder that sits on a tempered-glass coaster. It gets very hot.

I mean, I light frankincense AND myrrh in my home. My family hates it, but I’m nose blind to it.
