I am looking to buy a used pick-up. And I found a Ford thats a real good deal. But I heard that Ford supports some stuff thats bad. Is it ok to buy a used Ford since Ford doesnt get any money from it?

i cant see it as immoral. i can see it as a good move. my 93 ford truck is still running good.

Now see, we had a new Ford a few years ago…a Taurus…and perhaps it was this model, but once it hit 36,000 miles…it’s like a timer went off, and everything started to go. 36,000? That’s crazy.

I just don’t like Fords. This is me. My dh and I only will buy Hondas …we just love 'em.

But, I have known many who swear by Fords…but, maybe the 90’s models were made better than over the past few years. 🤷

i think most every vechile was made better and more reliable in the past. honestly i think to a degree its on purpose. better to make people keep buying new ones reuraly than try to ensure they buy you again in 20 years.

that said i only buy americian cars and trucks. partly for the benifit to my country, but mostly i like them better and asia has yet to put out a real truck

As I understand it the world is divided into two classes of people: Those who swear by Fords, and those who swear at them. 😃

I think you’re right…even Hondas are not 100% Japanese parts…so we’ll have to see what happens when we hit 36,000…better hold up!:o

:pshaw:Well, our 1985 Ford F150 still gets around. Now we won’t trust it out of the metro- area to be sure but come one it is older than our youngest daughter!

Ahh!! Don’t get my Bestie started on Ford trucks!!! She will chew your ear off!! She had an hour-long ‘talk’ that sounded more like a shouting match with another friend, who liked his Nisan.
I like Fords myself… we own 2! 🙂

At this point, if you buy it you aren’t supporting Ford on a used truck. You are supporting the owner of the used truck, either a private individual or a reseller such as a used car lot. So, if you like it, and the price is fair for the ocndition, go for it.

I drive an '02 Taurus with over 100k miles – I love love love my car. I bought it used a year and a half ago (with 72k miles at the time) and haven’t had any problems with it. I’m also pretty strict about following the oil change and maintenance schedule, because I don’t WANT any problems!

I recall a neighbor in Maine discussing his Ford. He said, *It gets me there and it gets me back; gets me back just about at belt level *. 😃
