Is it OK to help providing place for the Protestant church service?

I have a 2 storey business building with the first floor being vacant because I use the second floor for my office. The minister of the Protestant church always goes around my neighborhood spreading the Good News with the intention of recruiting new members. And I happened to have several meetings with him discussing about the bible, etc. Every Thursday they have a weekly gathering of about 20 people in the minister’s house but for their Sunday service, they have to share the place with the other church within the same denominations and that place is located about 30 minutes drive.

Due to the fact that my first floor is vacant, I decided to let them use it and only asked them to pay for the utility bills (the electricity & water that they use every Sunday) . They have been using it for 3 months now and things work out well because they only use it on Sunday morning. The number of people that go to their Sunday service at my office building now grow from 30 to 40 people since then. They are happy to have their own place for their Sunday services now. The 4-month contract of using my office building for their Sunday service is about to end this Christmas and I have to decide to renew the contract or not for next year.

Is it charitable to help providing a place for these protestants for their Sunday service? I just want to do the right thing in the eyes of God and the Mother Church.

I am fully aware of the problems between Local Church and other mainstream protestant denominations. I believe they are still much better than the LDS and JW.

Personally, I would say as long as they are not teaching/preaching against the Catholic Church and it’s teachings, it is fine.

Setting a Christian example speaks volumes. Many times it speaks more than the spoken word.

I know our parish has worked with other churches to provide a worship space when they have had a fire, flood, etc.

You may just be planting a seed.

I think this is a pretty fringe group. You might want to speak with your priest and present him with some of the groups teachings. Here is a quote from Lee, the founder of the movement:

“We do not care for Christianity, we do not care for Christendom, we do not care for the Roman Catholic church, and we do not care for all the denominations, because in the Bible it says that the great Babylon is fallen. I think it is a charitable action, and I would go with St. Paul’s advice. Even if they profess to be enemies of the Catholic Church (and nothing OP has said indicates this) Paul says to heap coals of kindness on the heads of our enemies. You will be speaking volumes to them about what Catholics are really like through your generosity. If they actually start some kind of overt attacks on Catholics–or on anyone else–that would be a different story.

If they are a heretical group opposed to Christianity I think it would be unwise to give them a place to teach their heresies.

We are engaged in a spiritual battle that has dire consequences. When we allow our enemies, spiritually speaking, to have a voice we dilute the truth of Christ.

Absolutely not
That would imply that you support what they are teaching…
… i hope you don’t.

I think that having a Protestant room of worship even near you would make you start to lose your faith.
I say stay far far away from it.

If the Roman Catholic Church is the True Church given her teachings, then what do you have to worry about?? Why would anyone want to go astray from the church? Why would they have any doubts about the teachings??

The Local Church minister was always eager to see me coming to their Sunday services. He tirelessly invited me and I managed to come two times but then I questioned my participation and after watching this: youtube.com/watch?v=-4qyL4pR0Rk I told him that the Catholic Church doesn’t allow frequent participation in the Protestant church. He understands and he stops inviting me.

I have a high hope of opening their eyes to the Truth because the ministers somehow like the Church Fathers but the funny thing is that they don’t know that the Catholic Church is simply following the teaching of the Church Fathers.

I am in the process of writing a book with the title:
**Bible History: Logical Discourses on Contradictions **

I will write about all the teaching of the Church Fathers who were involved in the development of the Canon of the Scriptures.
I hope I can get it done before Easter next year and I will print the books and distribute them to many Protestant ministers in my town (around 100+ protestant churches). The Local Church is pretty exclusive, their churches don’t have any sign whatsoever and their addresses are not published publicly. This is difficult to know them. By opening the door of my office building, I hope they can trust me to meet all their elders. I hope God will allow me to share the Truth with them.

I am planning to pre-launch my book at this forum so I can get review for necessary corrections. Is this a good idea? Thx.

In case you ‘Catholics’ did not know, Cardinals and Bishops, let ‘Protestants’ of ALL stripe use the facilities of Catholic schools, halls, centres etc. for various activities including retreats and (their) services! Mostly it’s for free except keep the places used, tidy!

The only exception is the church itself.

The Catholic Church is for ALL souls, especially those ‘away from God’ for whatever reason!

Unless it is illegal activity or some unlawful purpose, IT IS O.K. to help provide for others. They are God’s children in need of their own. He draws as He Wills, WHEN He Wills…not by Catholics being up in arms!

The Catholic Church is to profess Christ, baptize in the Triune formula and to ‘protect’ His Truth from error. But He guides Her and PROTECTS Her. Not us doing the ‘protection racket.’ However we minister help to others in need, we should! Without conditions and without favour!

It is not charitable to give people who teach heresy a place to stay and teach it.

You don’t feed heresy, nor do you shelter it.

That’s a good audio sermon to listen to up there.

Apostacy and laxity does not mean the Church’s teachings have changed.

One simply doesn’t do it.

For the sake of the love of God one does not do these things. 🙂
