There isn’t anything wrong with Joyce Meyers, stay away from Hinn though, well you wouldn’t be able to listen to him I wouldn’t think.

Most of the Prostestant preachers that get on the air either ‘Name It, Claim It’ or close to it. I don’t know about now, but I did listen to David Jeremiah once in a while, There were times I thought that he was going to say something antiCatholic, but ended up thaking his flellow Prostestants to task. :clapping: I always had a bit of a soft spot for Bapists.I used to have a job which involved tons of driving in the early AM hours. The local Catholic radio station was off the air overnight, so I did listen to Protestant sermons occasionally. A preacher that I did enjoy was David Jeremiah who is a Baptist preacher in San Diego. He never trashed Catholics or the C.C., and actually had some positive compliments toward Catholics at times. Some of the others though were extremely anti-Catholic and not worth listening to.
There are TONS of Catholic videos. Go to Ignatius Press, Catholic Child, Ascension Press, Catholic Answers, the USCCB Press. What about movies? I love Courageous and Facing the Giants and actually Facing the Giants was played for the kids last summer at our Catholic summer camp, I mean Passion of the Christ is still the most played movie across the spectrum when it comes to movies about our Lord today. . I really think that the most important center of Christianity is Christ. I would say in society today, more Christ and less Garbage regardless of what denomination. Just saying. I would rather my kids watch and listen to things surrounded with a message of Christ then everything else that is pumped into there heads. There is only one EWTN and some of its materials are a bit stale at times. Thank God for this site and some of the Catholic Channels on YOUTUBE.![]()
What kinds of errors is she promoting?Joyce Meyer for example is part of the “health and wealth” gospel and is FULL of errors. She may be entertaining, but she is feeding your wife spiritual poison.
Who is Chuck Smith, I was referring to Charles Swindoll . I still don’t agree with all the post about certain people. Personally I don’t like the Benny Hinns and and Joyce Meyers or the Joel Osteens. There really are only 2 I listen too Allistair Begg and Mr Swindoll , the others are all Catholic both living and dead…I’ve heard enough of Chuck Smith to think he’s pretty much anti Catholic. Don’t agree with you though…I’ll stick with just listening to Catholic speakers and teaching thank you very much.
Why whats wrong with her?Sorry, Joyce Meyers is another to stay away from.
It is not her per se,but her messages. As someone here noted, she borders between orthodox teachings and heterodoxy. Why whats wrong with her?
Don’t open your mind to other possibilities. The Pope’s thought police don’t like it one bit!I think it would be time better spent listening to edifying material from Catholics.
.
I think the Holy Father is talking about sharing the Catholic faith with others. Why listen to wrong theology at all? You are certainly not going to hear about the Sacraments. It is pretty interesting that so many people are in this thread are against reading or listening to anyone other than catholics. I really don’t agree but i respect everyones thoughts on the idea. I think dialogue and understanding is something the Holy Father has been pushing the church to more of. Reaching out to others. Maybe I was wrong. I just would like to know where everyone stands and I can take some of the wrong theology with the right ones in many of these people.
I am not against it at all. I simply said one better know their Catholic doctrines, dogma and teachings in order not to get trapped. As I said, one has to be careful what comes out of the person’s mouth. It is pretty interesting that so many people are in this thread are against reading or listening to anyone other than catholics. You mean like Mainstream Media constantly bombards up with an atheistic liberal agenda without giving any other position reasonable air time without ridiculing itDon’t open your mind to other possibilities. The Pope’s thought police don’t like it one bit!
ha i wear a tinfoil hat. so too bad for the thought police.Don’t open your mind to other possibilities. The Pope’s thought police don’t like it one bit!
Yes, of course. They will either reinforce your faith in Catholicism, or open your sensibilities to another path. It is a way to be honest in your faith. A refusal to listen to other points of view is essential weakness and insecurity in your views, and a potential denial of truth.Ever since I decided to become a Christian I found myself led to Christ by listening to numerous men and women of Faith. I have read many books by non Catholics. Some of my favorites are Chuck Swindoll and Alistair Begg. Both have said some non Catholic things in there sermons although very very often. My wife who is catholic has read and watched a ton of Joyce Meyers things. She loves her. Let me make one thing clear non of this has ever once changed my opinion of the Church. I left my Non Denominational church over a year ago because I felt that this is where I am called to be, saying that I still love listening to some non catholics.
