Is it ok to miss Mass on account for children?

I have a question, a while ago I was alone with my three and four year old children all day. I was going to take them to Mass, but then realized I would spend the whole time chasing them around the narthex, unable to pay attention. So, instead I watched Mass on ewtn that night while they were asleep so I could actually pay attention and listen to the Mass.What I want to know is, is it a sin and do I have to go to confession for a mortal sin? I really wanted to go but they were being bad and I wouldn’t have been able to listen to Mass anyway.
