Men love that kind of flattery. It would make my life if a woman said that to me. More women should be that forward (in a good way). Tell him.

I once told a girl I thought she was very beautiful and she said “I know”, lol…here’s hoping he’s nicer than that!
Ahmmm hahaha that’s funny… If somebody told me I was beautiful I will just thank them hehehe but ’ I know ’ is such a weird answer for a compliment hahahah anyway your post just made me laugh !

Well I’ve always thought that a good Catholic man wouldnt like a woman complimenting him or asking him out… Maybe I am wrong… Thanks for the info
Well, you’re bound to be right…for some men.

If you’re the kind of woman who would see her husband as the “head of the household”, then maybe you had better let the man do the asking. If you tend to view marriage as a partnership, then I don’t see why either person ought to be one one who should do the asking out in the first instance…as long as one of you does it of course.

There are plenty of good Catholic men who also happen to be quite shy, so if you take the first approach you naturally restrict your pool of potential spouses. Some men can also be a little dense when it comes to noticing that a woman likes him, so there’s another risk, although at least offering a clear compliment will address this concern.

Ohhh okk thanks for the clarification. I am more incline to want a partnership type of guy, someone who sees me as an equal and not less, I mean of course I will definitley respect his decisions and ideas but I want him to respect my own views and ideas as well and later come up with a mutual decision or compromise on things… That was a very nice (name removed by moderator)ut !

Strangely enough, that’s the sort of thing I would quite happily say to a male friend as a compliment (I’m female and married). I’d also tell a female friend that she looked pretty. I like making people feel good about themselves. 🙂

I have no plans in chasing the guy. Its just a compliment that keeps popping in my head. Guys, do you think this compliment is considered chasing?.. Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate them
It depends on how well you know the guy and the circumstances. For instance, if someone (I didn’t know very well) came up to me and said “I find you attractive and handsome!”, well, I’d be scared basically. I’d be like “So…?” It could be a bit aspergerish etc.

However, if it was said under other circumstances, ie. where the person had good grounds to think I was interested in them, then it might be okay. Generally matter of fact statements such as these might not really go down well. But you have to be sure the person is interested in you, cause if they’re not - its really a bad thing to say! I think this applies to both men and women. How would you react if a man came up and said this to you?😊

If a man told me I am pretty, I would reply thank you.

I am not going to tell him face to face… M just gonna send him a message. I have np plans of chasing him or asking him out… I just want to send that message cuz it keeps on popping in my head…

There’s a difference between saying ’ you look good/pretty’ etc and saying ‘i find you attractive and beautiful/handsome’ I think. One is just a statement about their current appearance, which can be a general statement given to anyone. The other is about your general attraction to that person - which is not always an appropriate thing to communicate.

How interesting.

I would expect most men to assume such a message meant that you were “chasing him”, and hoping to be chased in return. It’s very direct, depending on the wording, but I can’t think of any way to word such a message to be anything but direct.

I like making people feel good too 🙂 I’m not hoping for anything… It is just a thought that pops up in my mind and I am the type of person who just says what I think or feel.

Most men in this thread say its ok and most women says its not ok…
I used to think it is not ok to compliment a man but based on what the men have said here, I may be wrong…

I dont think I can say I find you attractive and handsome
I would say… You are an attractive and handsome man.

Chasing men… That sounds scary… I hope he wouldnt think that way…

Women should compliment men on their looks much more often. It makes a guy’s day – heck, it makes a guy’s year! We never get told this kind of stuff!

Personally, I wouldn’t do it-seems too bold. On the other hand, if he is extremely attractive, he has likely heard it before!

Hello everyone.

Is it ok to tell a man that you find him attractive and handsome? Would that make a woman sound too forward?

I hope men and wome will answer this question. What do you all think?
I’m a 22 year old single man and I believe if it’s a conversation starter, then it would come accross as too forward for me, I would like to meet a woman who could be a potential spouse how I would a normal friend and then progress from there, I wouldn’t like the idea of “lets start dating” before I have had a chance to get to know them first, but thats just me. 🙂

It is a very nice compliment to give though, but my advice would be to save those brownie points for a little bit later (like first date after you have gotten to know him :)). 😉

Hope I have helped

Thank you for reading
Josh

Personally, I wouldn’t say it to a man unless I was already dating him. That’s just me though, I don’t think there is anything wrong with saying it. However- I would not tell him “you’re handsome and attractive” through a text- that’s kind of random and weird. And I would also probably phrase it differently, make sure it was in the context of a conversation, and not just blurt it out. “You look really nice in that shirt” says the same thing, but doesn’t sound so awkward.

Telling a man you’re not dating, let alone engaged or married to that he is handsome is definitely too forward.

You want to indicate your interest in him, nothing wrong with that, but more subtle is usually better. You might compliment him on something nice that he is wearing. For instance, I recently bought a nice looking watch and a dance partner I didn’t expect to have any interest in me complimented me on it. The point being sometimes a guy doesn’t know when you’re interested and you do have to send him a hint or three without being too forward about it. Good luck!

Yes. Be prepared for the potential consequences. 99% of guys will smile, say thank you and go about their business.

1% will think that you want to engage in bedroom activities.

Wait. 100% of mean will think you want to engage in bedroom activities. 1% will be creepy about it. 99% will smile and hope for bedroom activities. 😃

I’m a male.

To the OP, you shouldn’t care what others think. I think he would very much appreciate it. Just be ready for his response which may just be thank you. I disagree that he will automatically think you are chasing him, but it might cross him mind. Don’t let others tell you how to live your life and decide your fate. It is not a sin to pay someone a compliments. You should like you cam handle whatever comes of it.👍

I would appreciate the compliment if a woman said that to me. I definitely wouldn’t assume it means the woman is interested it me. I mean, a lot of times it depends on the context and how she says it, but I think most of the time, I would just assume she just thinks I’m handsome and that’s that, unless, of course, she was making it really obvious that she is interested in me.

And I’m a 22-year-old guy.
