If a certain pro-choice candidate would be easier for the pro-life candidate to beat in a general election is it ok to vote for said candidate in his/her party’s primary election?

That’s a very common practice, on both sides – you may vote as you wish in a primary.

You need to vote for who is the OVERALL BEST CANDIDATE in your opinion and not restrict this to one single issue. The ability of a prsidential or congretional candidate to affect the abortion issue is minimal…at least until the issue is taken out of the courts.

Don’t turn your back while trains full of Jews pass through your town. Don’t pretend you can’t smell the smoke from the crematoria.

As Edmund Burke said, “All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.”

A person who supports killing our children is so morally flawed that they are unfit to hold any office be it dog Cathcer or President.

Absolutely – a person who supports the pre-mediated murder of the unborn on an assembly line basis cannot possibly have enough other qualities to redeem himself.

Sorry, I’m not totally fluent in the American primary system, but I thought you could only vote in one party’s primary?
At any rate, I think we should only vote pro-life, be it in primary or general elections. How do you know that the pro-choicer you vote for in the primary is going to lose?

?is it ok?What a world we live in .We want to have all the sex we what with anybody we want but when it comes to .a life being born webelive its ok to take this person choice away. What if our mothers had this choice? Well we would not be sitting here typing .We all have to stand be fore God for our actions.Even people who dont belive in God,People shut out God .Jesus tells us the road to Hell is very wide and the road to heaven is narrow. You walk in the way you want tis is your choice and mind to make

Each state has its own rules. In some states (New Jersey, for example) you must declare your party when you register – in most such states, you can declare “Independent.” Independents can vote in any primary – but only in one primary. They can’t vote in the Republican Primary then go back out, come back in and vote in the Democratic Primary.

In other states (Arkansas, for example), no such declaration is required – when you enter the polls to vote in the primary, they simply ask you which ballot you want. Again, you can vote in only one primary.

In states where you must declare your party membership, you can change your registration at any time up to 30 days prior to the primary.

You never know who’s going to win or lose. But in many states, activists of one party get people out to the polls during the primaries to vote for whom they consider weakest in the other party. It’s called “tactical voting.”

You can only vote in one party’s primary each election cycle, but there’s currently only one party with primaries now and everyone in it is pro-choice. Voting for the weaker candidate can help keep the primary going longer hurting both candidates of this party.

Our mothers did have a choice.

In that case, you’re not advocating a pro-choicer over a pro-lifer, so I believe it is acceptable.

I agree with looking at many issues but pro-life should always be at the top of the list.

The Church teaches that if confronted with two pro-abortion canidates you can vote for the one who would do the least harm on life issues. I cant bring myself to do so , however.

Where does it say that specifically… all I know was that was the position in the Catholic Answers voter’s guide.

Pope Benedict made it very clear that NO isssue or combnation of issues trumps abortion.

Being you have no faith(othert than your intellect) why would you care what the Church syays?

I do not have faith in my own intellect. If you want to know my personal epistemology, I mainly believe in empiricism and falliblism. (This is one reason why I admire George Soros because he shares the same epistemological view.) However, that is off topic.

 What do we as PRO-LIFE people do if All the candidates are pro-death(abortion)?

As my fiancé said to me,“I will vote, but will do so with a ‘barf bag’ in my hand”

As has been noted by many you seem to worship big words more than anything else. Do you have any idea how foolish you look when you make posts like the above?. I am sure that it is impressive as heck when bandied about in your dorm BUT in the real world people just roll their eyes.

Some people can get away with it-Bill Buckley being the best example-but with all due respect you aint no Bill Buckley
