What I mean by this is, is it okay to really really appreciate the pope, and to think very highly of him, and to really like him? I do not mean worship him but to fully appreciate what he is?
Sure. Why wouldn’t it be? I would suggest choosing another word besides adore though. Non-Catholics can understand the use of that word when you are speaking of “adoring” your family, but to speak of “adoring” the pope would raise in their minds images of worship. A better word would be love.
