Just as my title states, is it okay to honestly complain to God about one’s unhappiness even though they may be much more blessed than others?

This is the Prayer Intentions forum only. It is where members post there prayer intentions. It is not meant to be a discussion forum.
Please feel free to post your question in the Back Fence forum on the Home Page. Thank you.

I wouldn’t advise it. Look what he did to Job…and he was only inquiring in sadness, confusion and pain.

.
What did he do to Job? Looks like Job was honored and given…an entire book in the Bible with his name.

We all complain at some stage,
if you do some research on google you can find great Quotes on human weakness ,
Plus there are some great Quotes of human weakness in Psalms ,
You are not alone, Best thing is to pray and give thanks you have the capacity to breath:),

More needs to be said though. Yes, people in all ages have complained to God.
BUT…they also bent to His holy will. They agreed that whatever He had planned for them would ok with them.
Big distinction If one is simply complaining…with no notion of allowing God to do as He sees fit in your life…then it’s very ungrateful and would be a really bad idea. But Our loving Lord sees our pain, feels for us, and desires us to be at peace. So be sure, after you’re done venting…to tell the Lord that you believe He knows what will be best, and that you will accept it.

Perhaps as it is discussion tawny, the moderator may move the thread to another section.

Already requested; we try to keep the forums along the appropriate topic. People who see that it is a prayer forum should not be posting responses.

OP I surely know so!

There was a day some years ago now, that I stood in the wind and rain in a muddy field and berated and lambasted God for the total mess and desolation my life was in…

I listed it item by appalling item… a long list

Then that I AM NOT HAPPY LORD

BUT IF THIS IS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT FOR ME< WELL OK. BUT AM NOT HAPPY WITH IT!

The following day things started to change… as in from unexpected sources and at a bewildering speed,

Maybe it had cleared the air, cleared the way … it was honest and desperate. These were not trivial things,

I’m sorry. I’ll be more careful next time.

Very encouraging.

I talk to Jesus as if He is my Lord, my Savior and my best friend … so yes, I think it’s okay to complain every now and then … but always follow it by apologizing for complaining so much and humbling yourself to your Lord and Savior.

Read The Book of Job. Yes, you can complain, but never curse God!

God wants all of us; our strengths and weaknesses. If we are going through a tough time and feel like complaining, be genuine with God. Tell Him your troubles. The psalms contain many lamenting "why me"s throughout.

…Then they are eventually followed by God’s praises 🙂

I don’t think it’s wrong to complain to God you talk to your friends about your problems don’t you?

Surely God knows what complaints are in your heart whether or not you want to admit them. Sometimes I pray for the courage and dignity needed to bear the things in my life that I fear I can’t cope with.

Job complained and is expressly said not to have sinned in this. Probably about half the Psalms are complaints. Even Jesus complained at the end: “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me”. That sounds like a complaint to me.
