Is it okay to discriminate and abort unborn women ?

Here in Canada, we went from having abortions illegal to paying for them in medical hospitals at taxpayers expense.

Eventually pressure was put on Catholic Hospitals to perform these procedures, and our hospital, Saint Josephs’s went out of the critical care hospital.

A nurse was quite upset to find out that the woman who was being prepared to deliver a child, had been in the hospital two others times…the previous times to have abortions, because the child would have been born female…

Is that okay ?

Since both discrimination and abortion are wrong, no, it is NOT okay.

“Gender selection” is one of the reasons legal abortion is not really about the “hard cases” that pro-legal abortion people always try to focus on in the debate.

There are male human babies and female human babies. Those two sets of babies are subsets of ‘human babies’. If you believe that human babies should not be aborted, then you can not support the aborting of female babies whilst preserving male babies. Once you accept the abortions of female babies, then your stance against the abortion of human babies collapses.

For proponents of abortion, the reason for abortion isn’t particularly relevant. For them, it’s simply a women’s choice to do as she wants. She can abort for any reason. In China, there is a shortage of girls, because under the “one child” policy, if families were only allowed one child, they often elected to abort the girls.

Already we discriminate against Down syndrome children; they are aborted quite freely, along with any unborn child with a suspected disability.

Once abortion is accepted as merely a woman’s choice, then sex selection abortions are sure to follow.

And if it should be demonstrated that homosexuality is genetic, we could expect some to abort those with the gay gene.

The question was intended to show how ‘feminism’ in particular ‘cult-feminism’ and its manipulation of ‘a woman choice’ (a half-truth) was being used to specifically attack and kill the future, in particular the women of tomorrow…

(Sorry for taking the thread off topic, but) The ironic thing about this is that it would be the pro-life Christians who would speak out and fight against this. While the pro-abortionists, who normally side w/ the Gay Rights movement, really wouldn’t be able to speak out against it, because, as you pointed out, they believe abortion should be allowed for ANY reason the woman chooses. Very hypocritical.

They have to be, because no one in their right mind thinks it’s ok to abort a child because she’s a girl. People who do are seriously psychologically warped, or are living in a coercive environment, like China or India. But, since their mantra “her body, her choice”, they have to keep towing the party line. Because if they say “you can’t abort b/c of gender”, it’s putting a qualifier on it (abortion), and that would lead to “restrictions on the right to choose”, which they oppose. It’s complete hypocrisy.
