Is it okay to go to Mass if I have nothing to put into the collection basket?

Is it okay to go to mass along with communion if I have nothing to put into the collection basket? My monthly income (Social Security) is extremely tight and I feel it is not right to attend mass and not put money in the basket. Thanks for your answer.
