Is it okay to patronize a business that employs bad people?

If the issue is that the BUSINESS you want to buy from also sells occult items, then it is probably best that you don’t shop there.

You don’t say what your gum disease is, but there are many treatments for teeth/gums problems in an ordinary drugstore (Walgreens, CVS, etc.) that will work just as well as whatever you are buying OTC at an herbal store. If you are not under a dentist’s care, you can adapt any treatment you devise for yourself.

If the issue truly is that you believe the EMPLOYEES to be occultists, you need to have specific knowledge that they in fact are, and that your money is directly supporting their behaviors. As others have said, you are not required to investigate the sins of each person you do business with. If it makes you uncomfortable to shop there, then don’t. But it is not sinful just based on your description.

As for the mouth disease, I’m not sure how bad it is -there’s some minor gum recession and a little bit of bleeding in some areas. But it proceeded rather rapidly in the past few months to a year and I’m still pretty young.

giving people money is contributing to them

profits are distributed to worker’s wages,

the worker spends his wages doing evil

so by funding profits you fund evil and so you are contributing to evil. Now to contribute to this particular evil -false worship -is esp. bad and to be avoided even if it hurts one’s health.

Also, I think “to contribute” in this case, means “to supply wages to” since out of his wages, a bad person funds his lifestyle.

However, do you think that getting over some bad gums (sorry, graphic) is a proportionate reason for remotely helping non-believers?

A new question then -what is the proof that my health problems are a proportionate reason for remote cooperation?

Indeed I’m familiar with the indirect proofs offered above (taxes, etc.) but that doesn’t seem to prove anything positive -it just shows that my conclusion leads to an absurd conclusion but it doesn’t prove why I should actually do the thing everyone else is encouraging. And there certainly doesn’t seem to be an obvious dichotomy between my two choices.

Wait a minute…how does patronizing the business contribute to the spread of an evil religion…there is actually no logical connection there. Unless the business specifically supports it.
