Is it okay to pray the rosary without using beads?

I just bought a Scriptural Rosary book from my local Catholic store and I love it! I am a new Catholic at Easter and it is a very easy guide for me for the Rosary for me to pay attention. It helps me focus on the mysteries and not let my mind wander. Do I have to use Rosary beads to pray or are the prayers just as powerful with reading the book?
