Is it okay to receive Communion and leave?

I am a daily communicant. Sometimes on Sunday we go to vigil Mass on Saturday evening, but then on Sunday I don’t get to receive Jesus in the Eucharist and I truly miss him. Our parish is within walking distance of our house, so it would be easy to just “stop in” at one of the Sunday Masses during Communion, receive Jesus, and go home. I know that in normal circumstances we are not allowed to leave Mass early, but since I did fulfill the Sunday obligation would it be okay to attend Mass for the sole purpose of receiving the Eucharist and then go home?

While I don’t think your idea is prohibited, it certainly does not treat the Mass (which is the sacramental re-presentation in time and space of Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary) in a respectful fashion. If you want to be a daily communicant, perhaps you should consider making time in your schedule to become a daily Mass attendant.
