I support Girl Scouts for a few reasons:
- I am the Girl Scout leader. I’ve never been told to indoctrinate anyone about anything. We don’t do anything against Catholic teaching.
- Our parish (in the same diocese as St. Timothy’s) has scout troops associated with it. They were even selling cookies in front of the Church this past Sunday.
- The PP connection was individual troops and wasn’t the Girl Scout organization as a whole. There is no formal alliance and just because some leaders of some troops decided to do something against Catholic teaching doesn’t mean all of us do that. It’s like making all the girls and all the troops guilty of a sin committed by someone else. It’s the same flawed mentality (because a few do it… you are all guilty) that people use to wrongly paint all priests as child abusers for crying out loud.
