Is it okay to wish bad things to happen to an evil organization?

Strictly speaking as a business, it would be bad for that organization itself to shut down. That is what you mean by bad things happening to an organization. But morally speaking it is good for an organization which does evil things to shut down.

Maybe you ought to be more specific in your prayers of wishing for “bad” things to happen to them.
“Let them realize their atrocities and cease them” would be “bad” according to… for lack of a better word, Satan. To us and God it would be good.
Something morally bad that could happen to them would be something like having them start doubling the amounts of abortions that happen… (as if that would even be possible without the compliance of women )

I hope that made sense, I think I confused myself xP

Hey everyone. I know that we are never supposed to wish evil on another. However, is it okay to wish bad things to happen to an evil organization such as Planned Parenthood?

I would say NO. You can pray for them. You can pray that they see the light and change their hearts and minds, but wishing for bad things to happen to people is not in any teaching that I know of. In fact, it’s bothersome because it promotes the very kind of hatred that can lead to violence. None of this is a part of my faith.

You knew the answer because the organization is made up of the very people you know you are not to wish evil upon. We are better than this. Also “wishing bad” brings to mind callling upon Satan. Dangerous territory.

I wasn’t backtracking at all. I also cannot figure out what you think is so disturbing about my original post. When I asked if it is okay to hope bad things happen to an evil organization like Planned Parenthood, I was basically asking if it is okay to hope for them to go out of business. I was just simply confused as to how to phrase my original post at the time and so I phrased it in the way that I did.
