Is it permissable to attend an Anligican mass for convenience?

Is it permissible to receive communion in the Anglican church? Can you explain the reasons why the sacrament is not considered valid by the Catholic church as well as the validity of their priesthood which is necessary to confect a valid eucharist? Is this mortally sinful when used as a substitute for attending Catholic Mass as a matter of convenience?

Hi,

Many people are under the false impression that because there are some similarities in externals between Anglicanism and Catholicism, the two are far more alike than they actually are.

Early on during the short reign of King Edward VI the Anglican right of ordination was changed in that it no longer acknowledged the Mass as a sacrifice. In the eyes of the Catholic Church they removed and essential element from the rite, therefor rendering further ordinations invalid. As a result, the consecrations of those who were invalidly ordained were also invalid.

A Catholic who knowingly chooses to attend an invalid mass in place of a valid one commits a mortal sin.
