Is it permissible for a priest to say that it doesn't matter which religion you follow, as long as you are seeking God?

The priest at my parish just said during a class of cathechesis that he was ok with people going to evangelical Christian churches or even with one becoming a Hindu. I’m concerned about this because of the sentence Extra eclessiam nulla salus. Therefore, I wonder: Is it permissible for a priest to say that it doesn’t matter which religion you follow, as long as you are seeking God?
