Is it possible for a Catholic to place a curse, believing it only would work with God's backing, on the business of Planned Parenthood?

I’m thinking of machines not working before the abortion (you don’t want them failing during it or the baby and mother could die or be maimed), confusion coming upon the staff before abortions or just loss of business. Nothing would be harmful to the health or financial well-being of the staff (unless a place loses cash and ends up laying some off or closing a place) or those going in for one, of course–just against the business. Jesus cursed a bush and St. Francis told an unrepentant brother he would die outside the order, for example.
Is that a morally permissible option for us?
 
Placing a curse sounds a bit like trying to do magic. Don’t know if I wanna go there. And I am a person who has been roundly criticized for my passionate defense of Harry Potter. That is fake magic. This sounds like trying to do real magic.

Personally, when I think about it, I just pray for the failure of their mission.
 
But each act has a consequence…so you cannot say this or that will or will not happen. We don’t have any place using curses…although, I think legalized abortion has cursed all of society. One of the sins crying out to heaven for vengeance.

We really should be praying for God’s Mercy…only He can stop this now. The best thing to do is have Perpetual Adoration right across the street from the abortuary or right next door.

Jesus is God and can curse, but Jesus did not put a curse on anything. Attempting to put a curse on someone or something is a source of divination (cf. CCC 2116).

St. Francis engaged in prophecy when he told an unrepentant friar he would die outside the order, not divination.

You can certainly pray that God uses his power to make things difficult for the abortionist, the business (that the place loses business and are forced to closed) and the tools (that they fail often and he runs out of money buying replacements). That’s not the same as cursing the place. You don’t have the power to do that.

Didn’t Mother Theresa close down many an abortion clinic by doing just that? 👍
 
One of the principles behind Catholic moral theology is that we cannot do evil in order to achieve good. In Romans someone says “let us do evil so that good may come.” St Paul replies that their condemnation is deserved. Rom 3:8

If we do bad things to stop evil we become to better than they are and we become above the law thinking we know right from wrong. We make ourself God.

Your heart is in the right place in that you desperatley want to stop the horrendous crime that is abortion, but we can only do it good means.

We can’t do evil and expect good to come from it, isn’t that exactly what “they” (the people at P.P. think??) Of course, they are probably so blinded and so much in a state of mortal sin that they don’t care or even see all the evil they are bringing to this world. But I do believe, from talking with some of them, that they really do think that they are doing good by offering women a “choice”. How insane, sick and evil is that? Remember after 9/11, they were offering free abortions because they strike when evil is present, that fits right into their agenda. Birds of a feather flock together.

All we have to do is pray, they are already confused enough, pray that they become people of life. Isn’t part of the mission of praying outside of the abortion mills to be with the baby as they die, for that poor little innocent’s soul whose body is being torn apart, and for the mother who is in there talking their own child’s life, or at least shouldn’t that at least be a big part of the reason you are there praying, (if you are.)

Listen to what Blessed Teresa of Calcutta said about the Adoration chapels and listen to Saints like St. Pio, he said the rosary was the weapon, just pray and beg God’s mercy. Don’t wish evil upon anyone.
 
Wouldn’t placing a curse invoking the name of Jesus Christ be a sin against the third commandment?
 
It would be asking God to screw the place up, so He could do it if He wants. I was thinking it could be another act of faith. If God shuts them down, it would only be because He wanted to, having heard a prayer to do so. That’s what I meant.
 
I think there is a prayer for the confusion of your enemies. In this case, for the enemies of the unborn and soon, the elderly and seriously injured.

Seriously though, I’m afraid that I’m agreeing more with the ones saying it’s wrong (or at least, not a good idea). Something like that just doesn’t suit the word “prayer”.

Hex, curse, jinx, or spell on the other hand…

Does God need your help?
 
God doesn’t need our prayers. He doesn’t need us; He wants us to be with Him as He loves us. God asks us to pray for things, as long as it’s not for evil to come to someone. Asking God to wreck Planned Parenthood’s business in a location or in general, isn’t evil coming to some person. Obviously, it’s not the occult if you leave it up to God to honor the request or not. We still should pray for those involved.
