Is it possible for a man with SSA to be a priest?

Question:

If a man who was gay confessed his sin to a priest and recieved absolution. Could this man become a preist? Assuming he would never commit this sin again. Would the church allow him to be a priest knowing his previous history as a gay man?

A co-worker and I had debated this topic. I say yes but not sure.
