Is it possible for Catholics to reconcile Darwinism?

How can I as a Christian accept Darwinian evolution when that philosophies premise is a godless beginning? In other words, all life on this planet is the result of Time + chance. The idea of created beings made in the image and likeness of God is the anti-thesis to the Darwinian model of Macro-evolution.
