Is it possible for God to ressurect us from the dead?

One of my friends told me he had a LAZARUS experience about 15 years ago in his life. He said he thought he DIED and God brought him back to life.

He told me his body tempature dropped down to 32 degrees, he was out of it his spirit left this world.Although Geroge believes he really died I am thinking maybe he was in a coma.

I know for 14 hours it appeared he had died. I don’t think the Dr. offically announced him as dead, so it sounds to me like a coma. George seems to believe he left this world and really died. The Dr.s had called the family members and friends to come to the hospital . So they all came to the hospital waiting their with the Dr. preparing for a funeral.

My friend said God appeared to him put his hand on his right sholder and said “George I will always be with you and will never leave you arise !”

And then at that moment he woke up.

He has showed many people his doctors reports and has over 20 witnesses. I only had a chance to talk to his best friend about it who was at church with him on sunday and he confirmed that it appeard George had died. And the Dr. and everyone was stunned that he suddenly woke up and was fine.

He said since the time he had that heart attack 15 years ago he knows God is with him and will never leave him. He is a completely changed man. His attitude, personality, everything about him changed. He told me many of his friends can’t believe he is the same man, he is so different now. From what I gather he never really believed in God deep in his heart until that day, he wasn’t the nicest fellow to be around, and from what he is hinting at he did a lot of things in his past that he is not proud of. He told me when you know God is with you it will completely change your life.

Do you think it is really possible for someone to actually offically die and be pronounced dead by a Dr., but for God to save them and all of sudden live? I don’t think this is what happened, but I will have to ask George again. Maybe the Dr. did pronounce him dead. Nevertheless do you think it is possible to really die and then to be ressurected to life again?

Yes - it is possible. God can do anything he wants, even if it does not make sense to us!

First…I think God can certainly do whatever He wants…regardless of how “impossible” it may seem to us.

I’ve heard of this same type of thing happening before. I have a friend who was electrocuted…his heart stopped, doc said he was actually dead for a few minutes…and he’s with us now. He suffers from headaches and some memory loss, but other than that he lives a pretty normal life considering what happened.

I read an interesting book called “Niney Minutes In Heaven”. It’s based off the same type thing…a guy gets “killed” in a wreck, comes back to life 90 minutes later and is now fully recovered.

I think it’s a very interesting subject.

Nevertheless do you think it is possible to really die and then to be ressurected to life again?

With God, anything is possible if it be his will.

One thing to note though, is he still is in his corruptable mortal flesh. I mean he is still in this side of eternity. You mention he was resurrected, but really he is still in his original body.

His life and work in the Church is not over yet.

In Judaism, we believe that God can and will resurrect us from the dead, but that no resurrections happen until the End of Days.

God could have raised him from the dead. If so, it is not Ressurection, as he still has his normal mortal body.

Now, if he came back in a glorified form, he was ressurected. That is not the case from what I can tell.

God made us and all the earth… he can easily do something as small as making one of us live again once we died. God can do anything He so pleases.

I never understood that story about “90 minutes” in heaven. I’m sorry but I don’t buy it.

Yes God most certainly can raise the dead. Remember that was one of the things Jesus told the apostles to do was to go and raise the dead.

Why not? If God cannot resurrect a dead person, then He is not God.
