Is it possible to obtain even a small amount of purity? or nay?

Through action and virtue. Is it possible?

Yes, Mist! If there is difficulty God will give you the grace to overcome.

The Beatitudes…Matthew 5. Happy the pure in heart:
They shall see God.

God Bless.🙂 Peace, Carlan

Certainly. Prayer, fasting, abstinence, confession, avoiding near occasions of sin, reading or meditating on subjects that will make you want to be more pleasing to God, mild asceticism (e.g. occasionally sleeping on the floor) and the use of sacramentals can all help.

On another thread someone suggested promising yourself some small reward for when you make progress. It helped me.

Frequent worthy reception of Holy Communion helps.

One thing I tried which was entirely useless for me was staying away from the sacraments until I had a rock solid resolution to not sin again. I didn’t want to make a sacrilegious confession, but every time, the longer I stayed away from Confession & Communion, the more indifferent I became. Now, when I fall, I try to get back into the state of grace as soon as I can. Just observe for yourself what helps and what causes trouble, sincerely apologize to God if you mess up, and keep trying.

Speramus, Excellent post.:thumbsup:Peace, Carlan

Thank you all for the responses.🙂

Now it is time for this sinner to become as pure as possible.🙂

:thumbsup:Fasting and the use of sacramentals, which my priest recommended, has helped me tremendously. I wear the cord of St. Philomena and daily pray "O Saint Philomena, virgin and martyr, pray for us, that through thy perfect intercession we may obtain that purity of mind and heart which leads to the perfect love of God. Amen. 👍
