I think there are two other threads on this. The two existing threads were on statements by two different people. I don’t know if this is one of the people.

EDIT

Yep, one of the threads is one the same thing.

Brooklyn College Education Prof. Claims Math Is ‘White Supremacist Patriarchy’ World News
To the readers here. This is really a rebellion against absolute truth in general. Which is really a rebellion against Jesus Christ, true God and true Man. (Doubtful she really believes this herself.) JOHN 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me. . BLM Supporter - Teacher Says 2 + 2 Only 4 Because of Western Imperalism - World News
Marshall, who includes her pronouns in her bio, lists her occupation as “teacher, scholar, social justice change agent” and apparently is studying for a PhD at Rutgers. The point is you can’t argue with anything because all definitions can changed, nothing can be solid. Everything is fluid including math. [screenshot-summit.news-2020.07.07-12_15_55]

To be fair the article isn’t suggesting that 2 + 2 doesn’t equal 4. But that there are other ways that accurate conclusions can and have been reached by civilizations without the mathematics that modern western culture relies on exclusively. For example the Aztecs in relationship with the natural world, created amazing structures and ‘economies’.

The fact that the natural world is built on an order that can be drawn on to organize a structured society is something that many people today don’t even realize.

What does this have to do with racism?

Looks like they finally ran out of things to label as racist.

George Orwell :

In the end, the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable — what then?

How is it that this narrative works only in North America, and increasingly in some corners of the catholic establishment.

I’m intrigued by this new math. It has endless possibilities. For example, if 2 + 2 = 3, I go to the grocery store and buy bread. At the checkout, I lay down two loaves of bread, and then lay down two more loaves next to it. And I only have to pay for three loaves. On the other hand, if 2 + 2 = 5, then I purchase a five dollar item and pay for it with two dollars plus two dollars more. What an amazing world to live in.
