Is it Righteous for a Catholic to start a debate

Because mostly, the enemies of the Church is the one who starts a debate.
 
Often a question is asked in order to clarify something, perhaps as regards the Catechism or something in the scriptures. These are perfectly reasonable reasons to start a debate.

Sometimes questions are asked in a mischievous way but even then can be used to the good and often are.
 
Remember when Jesus said “By this will all men know you are my disciples, by your debate skills!”

Neither do I.
