Is It Rude?

I have 5 different Saint/Prayer cards I’d like to have blessed. Would it be rude for me to ask the priest to bless all of them at once?

Would he have to bless each one individually?

I just don’t want to take up to much of his time after mass.

My priest has blessed multiple Rosaries for me, all at the same time, I would think the same would apply to Saint/Prayer cards (actually, I think I may have had a Bible blessed along with the Rosaries).

No, it’s not at all rude. Don’t hesitate. He could use one blessing for all the cards–they don’t have to be 5 different blessings. In fact, he could bless hundreds of cards all at once.

At Newman Hall in Berkeley there is a day out of the year where the priest invites us to bring in our pets, real or stuffed, to be blessed. During that Mass celebration I brought in Alfie and Snugwells, our black and brown huggable stuffed bears, and they as well as all the other pets were blessed together.

It’s so nice to know the bear I hug and talk to is blessed. I do wonder though if he is any different than before. Who knows I guess.

It seems standard to bless everything at once. Frequently on retreats, a the priest will bless all objects in the room with one blessing at the closing prayer. I think the Pope blesses everything in the crowd at his public blessings.

If you have a rosary and recite it with devotion it applies a blessing to it.
I suppose this also relates to other sacramentals.

Items like Rosaries, holy cards, etc only become sacramentals once they have been blessed by a priest, which is what the OP was wanting done to his holy cards, all 5 or more can be blessed at once and then become sacrametals.

I’m not sure what you mean by reciting a Rosary with devotion applying a blessing to it? If it’s already a sacramental Rosary it does not need further blessing? And, unless you are a priest you can’t apply a sacramental blessing to your, or any other Rosary.
