In reference to the question I was wondering if it was sinful to attend bars or nite clubs as a christian. Sometimes at bars or nite clubs some people proceed in dirty dancing, drinking alcoholic beverages, and often music is played with lyrics that sometimes do not reflect christian values. Hence, I am pondering if being in such an atmosphere is indeed sinful.
Sometimes I am often asked by friends to attend a bar or nite club and I am often in conflict internally wether or not I should join as a christian because 1.) I am concerned for my spirituel well-being by exposing myself to such an atmosphere and 2.) just wondering if wanting or acutrally going to a nite club or bar is sinful.
I am aware often some Christians or Protestants I know of say it is not appropriate for a christians to be in bars or night clubs because it opens oneself up to an evil enviornement, the enivorment often promots evil,it is also often a place filled with backsliders in the faith and sinners.
However, I wanted to know if there is any Catholic Chruch teachings concerning visiting bars or nite clubs.
Also if there are other opinions, comments or thoughtful answers concerning this question that may not be directly associated with Catholic Church teachings feel free to post as well.
