Is it sinful to focus too much on the Bible?

When they replace other necessary, parts of one’s life. From regular bathing/grooming, to child and spouse care, to just living a balanced life.

For someone who has a family, proper care, patience, love, just being there, can be a prayer unto itself!

Embracing one’s more ‘ordinary’ responsibilities is just as important as hours of formal prayer and Bible reading!

When someone’s practice of their religion causes them to neglect the duties of their state in life … or as in this case, abandon the duties of their state in life, they have crossed the line.

But that is on your wife, not you. Your job is to do your duty according to your state in life. Keeping your wedding vows and taking care of your children.

It might help to read about some saints who had to raise their children alone for whatever reason. I realise abandonment is not a typical scenario, but doing your duty is.

God bless

How much is too much? When reading the Bible prevents you from living it out, that’s too much.
