Is it sinful to work on Sunday?

Hello,
I have a 16 year old son who is looking for summer work with hopes that he will be able to keep the job through the school year on weekends.
I found out that he has been putting on his applications that he is not available for work on Sunday. I appreciate why he is doing this as my family and I always talk about this sort of thing.
However, he has been looking for over a month now without so much as a phone call in return. I’m wondering if it is wrong to go ahead and work on Sunday for him. Almost all of the jobs in our area are retail or food related which I’m sure if you say you won’t work on Sunday you will hear “Next!”
What do you think? Is it ok for him to work on Sunday given these restrictions?
