Is it sinful?

I don’t think it is sinful.

I do it because my DH likes it that way. Nothing wrong with that!!

Wouldn’t worry about shaving guys, as the girls don’t mind the hair.
Maybe some girls don’t, but I sure do! Luckily my DH is not bad, as I do not find overly hirsute men at all attractive.

My SIL shaves her DH’s back every few weeks, and the other one waxes her DH’s. This is a mutual agreement, as none of them like the hair.

****AhhhHemmmm! DH? Am I missing something? What is a DH! I’m afraid to find out. Lost in Portland.

****Whew! Well…I learned something new. I see a lot of worry over nothing nowadays, and hair anywhere on the body doesn’t need to be shaved in men or women, but preferences can be exercised, but please remember, these things are unimportant. We were created in the image and likeness of God, and it is more perfect to have less care upon our physical beauty, than our interior beauty. If our soul is clean, then our body will be likesome, as Christ said it. In the beginning, when God created man and woman, he gave them perfect natural happiness, and a body fitted to them in His Divine plan. Our bodies, being temples of the Holy Ghost, are created as God intended them to be. We don’t have to be beautiful, because if our souls are clean, then our interior beauty will shine through. So many young people worry about externals. It is really so unimportant, as youth has a beauty all of its own. Pimples, and unwanted hair are part of life, don’t stress too much importance on this. Keep in mind the things of the spirit, and keep yourselves thinking on the eternal truths. Read “The Imitation of Christ”, “True Devotion to Mary”, “The Secret of the Rosary”, or the Latin Vulgate Bible every day, or a part of each book every day. Also, “Love of Eternal Wisdom” by St. Louis de Montfort, “The Glories of Mary by St. Alphonsus Liguori”, “The Incarnation, Birth and Infancy of Jesus by St. Alphonsus Liguori”, or some other books written by the saints to praise God and bring us closer to Him. If the youth of the today could see themselves 60 to 70 years from now, they probably wouldn’t believe it. They would thank God for their youth, and stop worrying about physical perfection. Be ye perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect, and nothing will be wanting to you. You will attain peace and happiness knowing you are in the Grace of God, and your light will shine through, because a soul in Grace is a soul most beautiful.

Pax Tecum!

Sins should be sins and things that aren’t sins should not be twisted into being sins. Catholics as well as everyone else should be able make personal choices as long as they practice modesty and chastity.

I am not aware of a Christian denomination that has made a restriction on any type of shaving to anyone. If it exists, I for one want to know so I can add it to my “wacky Kooky stuff” folder that is currently bulging at the seams right now.
##** IIRC, one of the the complaints of the Byzantines against the Latin Church before 1054 was that the Latin clergy shaved their beards. **

**They may have a point - Protestants seem to have gone in for beards; and not just in the 16th century (when there were some bearded Popes). Maybe shaving is a sign of orthodoxy 🙂 Maybe beards cause heresy & atheism ** ##

I shave my pubic hair for hygiene. Why so many people think it’s weird…? 😦
I don’t think anyone said that it was weird to do it for hygiene reasons 🤷

Of course there are other reasons why some do shave - those reasons might be of more concern.

I said, it COULD BE A MORTAL SIN IF YOU SHAVED THE PRIVATE AREA OF YOUR BODY FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXPOSING YOURSELF IN IMMODEST SWIMWEAR, PERIOD…THE END. There is no sin involved, I already stated that, if you don’ t shave to expose yourself. If you are having surgery, then that would be a legitimate reason, but the hospital does that, as I’ve had surgery and they had to shave for that reason. If you want to shave because of irritation or to keep yourself cleaner, then no sin is involved. No one asked about underarms or legs, but, then again, modesty in dress is always deemed necessary and Marylike Modesty in Dress which was quoted by Pope Pius XI, stated that women should wear their sleeves to the elbow and no shorter than quarter length or half way between shoulder and elbow and dresses should be below the knee (Padre Pio said 8 Inches below the knee). I’m probably going to get some flack from that one too, because women of today don’t know what modesty is, nor what coverage of their bodies is, and so we have people exposing their navals and their bellies, their breasts almost to the nipple, jeans so tight they could split at the crotch, etc. If you don’t think modesty is important, then don’t read this explanation. It is not necessary to shave pubic hair, but WHY would be an entirely different reason. I think wacked out needs to read before she speaks. “If someones conscience is pricking them about it, there could be a reason, because INTENTION is the key word here.” To shave is never a sin, to EXPOSE our bodies in immodesty IS. If you think that is wacked out, then so be it.
👍 Well said !

“Now I must tell you I was a “good” Catholic girl that did not “know” better and was following the trend at the time and really did not realize what I was up to. Now that I am much wiser, I know the impact I had. Even if I did not know it…I was an occasion of sin…it does not matter if they are not intentionally sinful (though morally they are not culpable) ~ I still believe that wearing a bikini has one goal in mind and it has nothing to do with getting a tan…and more with getting a man!” - jmjconder
