Ignatius;3746457]Jesus founded The Catholic Church existed before the Bible.
Not so. The OT Scriptures were already in existence before the time of Christ. Secondly, the oral teachings of Christ which later came to be written down as Scripture precedes the church.
It was The Church which compiled the Bible. The Church continued it’s ission to spread the Gospel for nearly 100 years before the New Testament Scriptures were all written.

Yes, the OT was in existence but we are talking about COMPILING the whole bible which was the work of the Catholic church.

First let me say that no one is denying the pre-existance of the OT.

What we are discussing here is the bible as it exists today, the collection of Old and New Testament Books bound together in a cover which reads “Holy Bible”.

Now to a specific question.
What group/organization went about spreading the “oral teachings of Christ” if it was not “The Church”?
Didn’t Jesus promise to build a Church upon the Apostles?
What group/organization wrote and protected the writings of the Apostles?
What group/organization did the Bishops/Deacons/Presbyters of the 1st century belong to?

Peace
James
