Is it truly the endtimes from a catholic perspective?
Im confused, because some catholics believe that since we are at rock bottom that we will only go up, and this will lead to a new age of the catholic church prospering once more. Many others say that we are in the endtimes, and it wont get better until christ comes back.

Jesus specifically said no one knows when the “end times” are. Anyone who is telling you it is or isn’t is full of it. Simple answer: no one knows. That’s it.

The entire time since Christ left has been the end times.
Catholics have been through MANY horrible times in history since the Ascension.
Persecutions, wars, disasters, famines, plagues, scandals and schisms, you name it.
Some people like to sit around trying to interpret when the “end times” will arrive, but as Jesus said, we do not know the day or the hour. So anyone who claims they know, doesn’t.

For each of us, one of two things is going to happen: either Jesus will come back in their lifetime, or their own personal life will end. Either way you will be judged the same way.
So it’s pointless to be any more concerned with “end times” than you are with your own death.

So lets try to do some historic revision…

Are we being thrown in a stadium with lions and bears and tigers who have not been fed in weeks so that they may rip us apart and kill us?

Or are they lining the roads with Catholics nailed to crosses to die like our redeemer?

So when we think that we are having a bad day we should reflect on the martyrs that shed their blood for the faith.

Now I am not saying that things are not going badly now days but it is I believe the way that GOD allows us to become better Christians instead of religious couch potatoes. It seems that we lower our guard allow the insurgence of evil and then we pay the price for that in suffering.
Maybe some will have to eventually shed more martyr blood to purify the Church. Much prayer needed indeed.
God Bless

As a practical matter, our last breath is our personal end time. We are told to “watch” and nothing more.
