I believe that like attracts like. Is this consistent with Christian doctrine?

I know Job 3:25 states “What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me.”

I think the capital virtues are supposed to engender all other virtues (just like capital sins engender…), fruits, gifts of the Holy Spirit (or God’s opposite if you chose those sins), although I always get confused about the theologial definitions of those different, individual ones… kinda like pride causing vanity or is vanity the sin in its own right or is it a separate sin? And then seeing how maybe vanity leads to the suffering of anxiety, even? Kinda like a ladder to Heaven and then we choose to go up or down?

The Law of Attraction as we know it today, popularized by Abraham Hicks, is demonic in origin, so to answer your question, no I don’t think it is compatible with Christianity. There is an excellent article about it here: womenofgrace.com/blog/?p=510

Just thought of something else. I think the law of attraction is evil not only because of it’s origin, but because it causes the person’s pride to become puffed up. Anything good that happens to the person, they are like wow, look what I attracted to myself. When in reality it was a blessing from God, not themselves.

The Bible doesn’t lie so there you have it. Every good thing comes from God, not us attracting it to ourselves, which is what the devil is always trying to do - take glory and honor and thanks and gratitude and our trust away from God.
