…that most saints have dry prayer lives?I read this somewhere but i could not recall where I read it.And I read also that because of this dryness in their prayers, they persevered in their prayers.🤷

Well, a lot of saints have recorded going through one or more periods of dryness in their prayer. Which doesn’t mean this dryness was always long or sustained.

It is through their selfless love of God that they persevered in their prayer lives even when it seemed they were getting no consolation in return. Mother Teresa being the ultimate example, and perhaps St Monica the next.

While several saints have written that they experienced a profound spiritual dryness at some point in their lives, this shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, really – in fact, I would say it’s more unnatural for a holy man or woman to not experience any dryness during their lifetime.

Some saints experienced it in a much more acute way than others and for longer periods of time. What matters is not the dryness or the temperament of the saint, but the fact that they remained faithful.
