Is it wrong for me wanting to see the apocalypse?

I kinda want the world to end I want to see everything described in revelations sometimes I doubt the existence of God and that scares me because I want there to be life after death but if the end of the world came and Jesus appeared in the sky id be so happy to know for certain that he’s real and I’d gladly do the 7 years of suffering knowing what’s waiting for me at the end

The NT scriptures do say, in nearly as many words, (allowing for translation) that we should long for our LORD’s return. That’s what Maranatha means!

Sometimes I ache to hide in His arms; but I am put off by the hideous being-dead thing. Those still breathing at the very end get to avoid it!

Just remember that your chances of seeing that time are vanishingly small, less than 1% (there have been 100 generations since His human life; and no reason a priori to believe that ours is the lucky one.) If this generation hits the jackpot, the chance of you living through the main event are probably even worse.

The predominant teaching of the Church is that when Christ returns the kingdom will be unveiled in its full glory. This will be after whatever tribulations occur.

All that said, there’s nothing wrong in itself with desiring the return of our Lord.

I feel the same way. Part of it is curiosity, the other part is not having to wake up at 4 in the morning for work everyday.

The so-called “apocalypse” is the destruction of the earth by a global nuclear war, and the signs indicate that this will happen in the 21st century.

Critics of this idea point to the fact that theologians have been predicting the advent of this destruction since the dawn of Christianity. What those pundits neglected was Genesis 8:21 where YHWH promises that He will never again be the cause of humanity’s demise. Therefore the fulfillment of all of the terrible predictions of the ancient prophets was not possible until the 20th century and the invention of nuclear weapons. The second demise of most of humanity will be of our own doing, and it is predicted in both OT and NT prophecy.

The nations have fallen into the pit that they dug;
they are caught by the feet in the snare they set themselves.
YHWH has made Himself known, has given judgement.
He has trapped the wicked with the work of their own hands.

Only the Father knows the day and the hour.

I have my days where I look up to the clouds and hope that I see Christ descending in glory and I think most Christians do too. But it’s not healthy to hope for the end within your lifetime. Yes, we will see Our Lord again, but the horrendous suffering that will precede it will dwarf any horrible atrocity that has occurred in human history. I hope more for a new golden era of the faith than I do apocalypse, that way I can die knowing that many will be saved rather than most being damned.

I’d be careful about literally accepting versions of time in apocalyptic literature. And No, no one would gladly suffer. But the end of the world as we know it is a real theological Truth. And it of course is not wrong to see God’s perfect mercy and perfect justice carried out as He promised.

The thing for me is I just want to see Jesus to know for sure he’s real I’ve been losing my faith praying doesn’t help speaking to a priest doesn’t help I saw the miracle of the dancing sun in Medjugoje back in 2018 it filled me with faith then it wore off some days I feel full of faith but most day I think “what if?” If the end came I knew Jesus was real I really wouldn’t care about the tribulations I’d have to face because I’d know Jesus will be waiting for me at the end and I’m sure someone told me if u endure the tribulations to the end you guaranteed a spot in heaven that also appeals to me
