My husband and I are having a little debate. We have friends who are protestant and we expect that, soon, their child will be “of age of reason” to be baptized in their church. This couple comes from a church that forbids infant baptism because they consider it non-biblical. They have attended the parties for our childrens’ infant baptisms but have made it clear that they do not believe in the validity of it. I believe that we could attend their child’s baptism because the Catholic church would still recognize it. My husband believes that we should not attend because 1. they follow the heresy which teaches infant baptism is wrong
2. we have strong feelings against many of the teachings of their church. Can you shed some light on whether it is correct or not to attend the baptism and/or any celebration that follows. Thank you.
