It’s not wrong to desire martyrdom. Many saints have. St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Maximilian Kolbe are two examples that readily spring to mind. I would say though that an excessive focus on or appetite for martyrdom may blind someone to the good of this life and the responsibility to live this life to its fullest.
