Is it wrong to go to other (Catholic) churches sometimes?

Instead of going to my home parish, I like to go to a different Catholic church in my area on Sunday mornings whenever I am not on the altar server or reader schedule at my home parish. Is it wrong to go to a different parish sometimes?
 
I don’t think so. But that is more of a guess than a fact. 🙂
 
Absolutely not. You have the right under Canon Law to attend any Catholic Mass.

As others have said, this is not a problem. You may attend any Mass at any parish. It can be in any language and for any rite.

This question seems to keep coming up. I am wondering if you can explain why you would think there is a problem attending Mass at a location other than your home parish? You are expected to help support your home parish but that doesn’t mean you have to attend there every week.

I go to other parishes more often than I go to mine. Otherwise, I would not be able to go on quite a few Sundays.

Our Mass times are not as good, we seldom to never start on time, and our pastor must have a rule that every homily has to run about twenty-one minutes or more. No matter who does the Mass, the homilies run unusually long compared to every other parish I have visited.

There is no such thing as heading our the door earlier than one hour and twenty minutes after the posted starting time. When you have kids, that is starting to run a little too long. However, I do my parish support and do some extra where I visit.
 
nope - I like to church hop myself - I have friends that attend a few different parishes - so sometimes I will attend with them , my mom lives further down the city and goes to a different parish and we sometimes go to each other’s parish

I’m curious what prompted you to believe it is “wrong” and what exactly do you mean by “wrong”, do you mean sinful or what?
 
I go to Mass and adoration at my home parish but go to confession and youth group at another. You can make a lot of friends!
 
There is nothing wrong with church hopping from a Canon law point of view. They only hiccup I see is that you aren’t contributing to your parish’s financial collection. Of course, it all probably evens out in the end as your parish probably has visitors that aren’t attending their home parish and are contributing. Some very small parishes do feel the pinch when they have low attendance resulting in small collections. It’s just something to keep in mind. Maybe you want to be sure to give a little extra at your home parish than the other ones. Or, if your parish has it, sign up for automatic contributions.
