I have a beautiful home for which I am very grateful. It’s been a wonderful home. But I’m a different person than I was 25 years ago. Psychologically and emotionally I want a different setting for the next phase of my life and am having a difficult time finding it. My husband and I have been searching for over 3 years now and I don’t know if the answer to my prayers has been no or just not yet. Do I let it rest and move on?

Perhaps you should just pray for Gods will for you, and for acceptance of whatever that is. Then, whatever he sends will be okay no matter what it is.

“Until God opens the door, praise him in the hallway.”

Give us this day our daily bread…That being said, we need to be more concerned about acquiring treasure in heaven by being faithful to God’s will than in acquiring material treasure.

Matthew 7:7–8.
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Luke 11:9
9“And so I tell you, keep on a sking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

Why would He tell us to ask if He didnt want us to ask…Why would He tell you to give up, if He says yo keep asking. As long as the desire is in you, maybe God hasnt answered yet. Just dont forget God will will be done, and Gos is good, all the time. 🙂🙏

There’s nothing wrong with asking, but like Jesus (in Gethsemane) add, but thy will be done. And mean it.
Like the others say, you should be more concerned of the things of heaven but who are we to know if this home you talk of is part of leading you there, only God knows. So ask but be open to what you get and grateful for whatever his will is, dont be stuck on one thing ie I want x and nothing but x will do, but open to God’s will

What you’ve said here isn’t exactly what I think of when I think of “material things”. Rather, it sounds like you have a need to move forward in your life, and that is what you’re praying for.

I think it’s fine to keep praying for the right place to come along, but I don’t know exactly what you’re doing either. Maybe you’re being to picky.

Also, I suppose that God isn’t very interested in housing markets. So, does God have anything to do with you not finding the right place? I don’t know.

Jesus said, “ask and you shall receive.” He didn’t really qualify what we are supposed to ask for. However, I think, we are supposed to be free from vice, sin, and self serving mentality and moving toward sainthood. This would require a sense of honesty from the foundation of love. I always like to ask God to give me a reason why I would want or desire something. That way it becomes more of a shared intimacy with God or Mary and the Angels. The answer is usually in our immediate environment and interaction with others.
