Is it wrong to pray and ask that some day that you will see the Blessed Virgin Mary on earth???. As St. Catherine Labouré prayed that she would see her and so she did. Does anyone pray to see her on earth before the dead ?? 🙂

Please document the bolded claim (above).

Perhaps the problem with prayers of this type may be in the nature of the prayer itself. Is there some sort of hidden temptation in praying such a prayer. Is the prayer the result of a lack of faith causing one to almost dare Our Lady to make an appearance for our own selfish desires. Is one being presumptuous with such a prayer? One should perhaps reflect on the true reason beneath the desire to pray for such an event. Does one need to actually witness such an event to feel close to or connected with Our Lady through a solicited appearance. Why do you want this to happen? Will it provide you with a personal sense of private well-being or are you concerned with what Our Lady, through an apparation, can do for the faith of others? Reflect on your desires and you will find the answer to your question–I am certain.
God Bless You,

Yes.

Extra-ordinary favours are*** extra***-ordinary - marvels of this kind are quite compatible with being damned; visionaries are not in heaven because of their visions. People are far better advised to be faithful to such graces as they have received, & to being faithful to the duties of their respective states of life.

As for that vision, what is to stop the request being a sin when made ? And even if it was not sinful for her, what reason can there be, for anyone to aspire to seeing visions & the rest of it ? The vision she had may have been granted not because of, but despite, her request.

BTW - your final question seems to have gone pear-shaped; as it presently reads, it doesn’t make sense 🙂

That’s not actually what happened. Catherine’s devotion to Mary was so strong that she longed to see her which is different from saying she prayed she would see Mary on earth.

What about if some of us here had that same strong devotion to Mary and longed to see her. Someone of this forum could have witness the Blessed Virgin Mary in a vision. She may have come once to that person with no message. But people would be a scared to say anything about seeing her. People would call you crazy if you said you saw the Mother of God 😦
