Some souls doing Purgatory on earth? I’ve never heard that. I think there’s a danger of interpreting things without Church authority. Like this popular idea of people who die suddenly and are “trapped” between earth and heavenly planes and don’t realize they’re dead. I’m not disputing countless accounts of people claiming they’ve seen ghosts. I’m more inclined to think of residual hauntings - perhaps some of us are sensitive to the dimension of time and are just observing a past event being replayed.
Demons and angels on the other hand are definitely scriptually-based.
That being said, I love a good ghost story and find the paranormal fascinating in a wholly fictional entertainment way.

Ghosts can not be demons. Demons are spirit beings that have never had a body. Ghosts had bodies, they just don’t necessarily know what happened to those bodies. Most ghost stories however are stories made up to scare, teach or amuse people. Think of Charles Dickens.🤷

I once had a boy ghost in my old house who was seen by 3 people. Although I myself have not seem him, there were a lot of manifestations that I experienced. One day, somebody advised my wife to send the ghost away which she did. There were no more manifestations ever since that day.

NO…ONLY God is omnipresent, no one else can be in more than one place at one time.
Jesus Himself once said the Guardian Angels of children look upon the Face of God. If they’re watching over children and looking upon God’s Face, how are they not able to be in at least two places at once? They are spirit beings, not confined to the limits of a mere human body.:angel1::getholy::harp::heaven::amen::blessyou:

We know that Christ visited the Apostles and some disciple after His death. We have also heard of some saints receiving visits from apparitions of Mary, Jesus or various saints.

Also in the Bible, a witch conjured up the spirit of a prophet for King Saul. I have also heard from friends, folks who have seen the apparition of a deceased friend or loved one… not as in a spirit haunting a place but a visit to tell or assure them of their passing or to comfort them.

One was of a priest seeing his mother on the night she died (as told by the priest). Another was a friend on the night before he died, seeing and talking to his best friend, who had passed away the year before.

I think God sometimes allows some souls to return briefly to comfort friends or loved ones.

This is very true and has happened similarly to me twice and to my aunt as well.

Also, souls doing work on earth for their Purgatory sentence was seen by a priest once, which he had the ability to see people’s guardian angels. He saw them cleaning the altar in the church he was in.

However, it can be very likely, which I am starting to believe, is that ghosts, who are not purgatory souls or deceased family comforting us, are more than likely a demon of some form. Some may have very little power and wont do much if at all and are just trying to play with us and distract us from God but are mainly harmless. And then there are the more powerful demons who are wrecking havoc to try and take our souls to Hell. Demons have to be invited in some form by us to come into our part of the world, and some become attached to or infest certain items, especially items of the occult, like Ouija boards and the like. As it is, a relative of mine brought a powerful demon into their home by replacing their old Ouija board, now the demon (which is attached to the board) is bothering them in many ways.

BTW, I have done some research on my own on such things because it effects me. I am a discerner of spirits with empathetic abilities. I have been haunted by demons since I was little and my empathetic abilities are very strong and knowledge has really helped extremely to understand and properly protect myself and know how to use my gifts.

I hope this illuminates your knowledge some.
