Is it wrong to refuse life saving surgery?

If you feel it’s just “your time” is it ok to refuse life saving surgery?

(like if you’re on your third round of cancer, and that’s the only thing that would save you, but it could be futile)

(my health is fine knock on wood, just kinda curious, I hope I’m not being too morbid)
 
How can it be life saving surgery if it would be futile to have it done? Now, if it were indeed life saving, why not have it? If it would be futile, then making the patient comfortable as possible until death is, to me, the right thing to do.

What you want to do is study up on ordinary and extraordinary means or treatments. There are times when we must do certain things and times when it is morally accepted to not provide or accept certain care.
