Is it wrong to send an anniversary card to a couple who is not validly married?

Since the beginning of my marriage, I have sent my in-laws an anniversary card. I have since learned that their marriage is not valid (one was previously married in the Church and did not seek an annulment). However, I still send an anniversary card; am I incorrect to do so? Forgoing a card will definitely rock this already tenuous relationship.
