In specific, my wife and I have been to Rome on our honeymoon and now we are planning to go to Honduras to visit a lay minister friend and help him in his ministry. We are a frugal family that tries to donate our excess income. However, my wife has difficulties with spending so much on traveling. She feels that spending this much money can possibly be selfish of us, especially in regards to our trip to the Vatican and Italy. I don’t agree with her but I am having a hard time coming up with a proper refutation. I talk about solidarity and direct service/experience, but it still doesn’t seem to be enough. Can you help me out? Thanks.
