Is it wrong to support the Shriner's?

My wife bought some onions that the Shriner’s were selling as a fund raiser. We didn’t know they were part of freemasonry. Not knowing may get us off he hook this time, Is it wrong to support them in the future for this or any kind of fundraising? I tried to read and reason from the forums - 1/2 said yes, 1/2 said no. Is there any kind of definitive answer?
