I am now in RCIA.
A very dear friend of mine, Larry, was an evangelist. About 20 years ago, Larry trained me in how to talk with people about Jesus. For about six years, I really kept at it.
Sometimes I ordered Jack Chick tracts in boxes of 1,000 (usually the “This Was Your Life!”). My friend Larry sometimes would write to Jack Chick personally. Larry had wrote a “car-wreck” tract, and also a small booklet on how to share Christ with others.
Jack Chick did drawings for my friend Larry’s tract and booklet. And I am quite convinced that there was no financial gain for Jack Chick as a result of doing these drawings for Larry. I think Jack gave the drawings to Larry for free. My friend Larry did not have much money. So I firmly think that Jack Chick just doesn’t understand Catholicsm or the Catholic Church. And I think Jack Chick is sincere in his efforts towards getting people to repent and consider dedicating themselves to Jesus Christ. My friend Larry sent me a photocopy of a letter he got from Jack Chick.
And Jack Chick strongly urges Christians to read the Bible every day. In one book, he strongly suggests a plan of reading 10 chapters in the Bible every day (a chapter from different sections of the Bible).
I am sure that there are some who will disagree with me. But I do not think the worst of Jack Chick. Jack Chick also has a lot of tracts that are not about Catholicism at all.
Instead, I know that God is a good God. And Satan is a bad devil.
I just looked at Jack Chick’s newest tract

The tract shows a girl learning about the 10 commandments.
The girl realizes that she has broken one of them.
One picture in the tract focuses on the Passion of Christ.
The back cover (like all his other tracts) urges readers to:
(1) Read your Bible every day to get to know Jesus Christ better.
(2) Talk to God in prayer every day.
(3) Be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a Church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.
(4) Tell others about Jesus Christ.
Obviously “the Bible is the final authority” is problematic. I suppose that my Catholic brothers regard it as anti-Catholic. But even in Protestant Churches, the Bible is not the final authority. What Church really has the Bible as the final authority?
