Is Jared's Brother ever spoken of by name?

Having trouble getting to sleep this evening and, as I’m on my third reading of the BOM now, I completed Ether again and realized that a question that I had during my first reading had not been satisfied (or I have overlooked the answer) which is:

Is the brother of Jared, spoken of so highly in Ether, ever given a name? Perhaps in a chronology or genealogy that I’ve simply missed?

He seems a pretty important guy - first prophet of the Jaredites, first to ever see Christ in the flesh, etc., but he doesn’t seem to have a name: other than the “brother of Jared”.

So help me out, BOM scholars, and give this man a name (or make me aware of the name, at least)!

There for awhile it was a popular LDS name and you can find quite a few MM Smith, Johnson, etc.

I was just doing some research on the name since we talked about it today and I saw the name Mahonri in the pronunciation guide. I was trying to find from where it was referenced from to be in the guide. I’m just an LDS guy passing through .

Some LDS scholars have used the fact that the brother of Jared’s name is never mentioned as circumstantial evidence that the Book of Mormon is really an ancient book. Ancient “lineage histories” tended to ignore, as much as possible, others that were outside of the lineage. Since the Jaredite Kings and Ether were descendants of Jared, they didn’t bother to mention Jared’s brother’s name.
