No. Though the grace won for us upon the cross is available in all times, in all places, to all people in both Word and Sacrament.

Are you Catholic??

What do you think about this thoguht:

That Jesus is still suffering in his brothers and sisters (as per St. Matthew 25:31-46, which says that wahtever is done to the least of them is done to him??)

He’s everywhere, so yes.
God, the Father is “everywhere”, Jesus, at least in “tangible form” is not everyewhere… Jesus is in the tabernacles of the Catholic Churches throughout the world…

No, not Catholic.

Ah…well, yes, in that respect, He is with His church. I was just taking it to mean the actual event of the crucifixion.

Well, Jesus did ask Paul why he was persecuting him, and so he was talking about the Church. Since the Church is constantly being persecuted I would say its a source of pain for him.

i would definitely say so…

on some other Thread someone said something to the effect that God doesn’t grieve (have feelings). I made the point that He must because he made us in his image and we have feelings…

I believe God’s feelings are expressed (like all his other attributes) through the person of Jesus Christ. He was/is fully human… He took his human body into Heaven iwth him… What a wonderful thought, that he is one of us… I feel tears well up thinking about it… & what is more awesome to contemplate is that he is still willing to live in us and suffer with us… We sometimes feel we are suffering alone… but He never abandons us. Everyone else does but not Him… :console:

If God did not have feelings, why would Jesus have cried when he heard of the death of Lazarus?

good point…

actually, even on a Catholic answers show, someone said that once… (I cna’t listen to Catholic Answers anymore because no Catholic radio in my area, that i know of…). but anyway, it always seems to be men who say this kind of thing. But maybe they are forgetting that God made women too???

and that they are made in his image also…

PM me with that thread and tell me the approx post number.
if you are asking about the thread about God not having feelings, i don’t recall which one it was… sorry…

I’ll try to wrack my brains, thoug… 😃

Only one thing: My brains are pretty tired from all the wrackings its gone through before… :hypno: :banghead: :ouch:

Well, maybe that person will visit this thread.

Don’t whack your head though. That’s not true persecution of the church you know. 😉

Why would he still be on the cross? He was taken down and put in a tomb.
Is this something to do with being at all places in time in all places spacially? If so then that means that Lucifer is also still in heaven.

I think the bible alludes to the fact Satan does meet with God in heaven. I recall that in the story leading up to Job. I think the bible mentions that Satan came to speak to God about Job. So, I guess your speculation is not too far off possibly. I just dont know where he was before the meeting…🤷

God 86’d him and 1/3 of the angels…

He just wanted the meeting so he could get a respite from the heat… 😃

LOL!

Poor Job. I think God really loved Job, and no one else saw it that way.
i remember some talk Fr. Corapi gave… he spoke of how people trying to be holy will suffer and that God … something to the effect that it means God loves you… and the person he told that to said, “Uh, God… Could you love me a little less?”😃

I have said that myself… :hypno:

Jesus is at the right hand of God ruling and reigning, interceding for the elect of God, and holding the universe together. His is risen indeed! 🙂

but he still is crucified in his brothers and sisters who try to stay true to Him…

He lives in us… and so he suffers with us (persecution, hatred, etc…).

i often wonder why God doesn’t put an end to the whole world… according to St. Faustina, he wants to… Mary holds him back, apparently… Mary and the prayers of the ones who love Jesus…
